Q: I'm a Hospitality Management graduate who has switched careers into Web development and Design and now looking to switch into Finance. I'm starting to believe I have 'Career ADD.' The one good thing is that I can do many things from being artistic (graphic design), to deductive and analytical (programming), to people friendly (customer relations). The list goes on but what could be something of a blessing, is for me, turning into a curse because every corner I turn there is something that 'I could just love and be great at!!' (Of course I am not so deluded or arrogant to think that but that's the immediate feeling I get.) I can't keep switching careers for the rest of my life. I would like to advance, get better at, and make something of my career. Can you help please??

A: You are a classic "options oriented" individual ? you love trying out new options. You master new skills quickly, but soon get bored. Your mind wanders from your current job. You daydream about what you could be doing instead. You begin actively searching for the next greatest thing. You never stay in one place long enough to make your mark or climb the ladder.

To further complicating matters, you are bright, capable, and can do a terrific job at pretty much whatever you turn your hand to!

The good news is you are blessed with many talents. You're creative, energetic, analytical, entrepreneurial, and if you can team up with others who get a kick out of your abundant energy and enjoy doing the detail work you could be very successful. If you find a job that is endlessly stimulating and challenging, you'll be happy for life.

So my question for you is: what is your impossible dream? What job or calling is so awe-inspiring, so impossibly challenging, that you could spend a lifetime perusing it? Answer this question, and you will have found yourself the career you can immerse yourself in until you grow old, without ever growing bored.
